In Memory of Tanzer
July 21, 1998 – February 6, 2010
Our most beloved Tanzer of Sunshine Canyon in Boulder, CO, passed away Saturday morning, February 6, 2010 at 8:48 a.m. He was so deeply loved and appreciated for 11 and a half years. He left this world held in the loving arms of Cat and with Renaud at his side.
Double D’s Irische Tanzer was whelped in Loveland, Colorado, July 21, 1998 to CH Aurora’s Jayde Von Weimshadow by Breeder Elizabeth Parr. His father was DC Jo-Ron’s Silber Elch UD MH of Pennsylvania.
Tanzer was one of the most handsome and noble of Weimaraners to grace this earth – filled with so much life and energy. In his prime, he weighed 93 lbs and exhibited the fine form ofa Grey Ghost Weimaraner. He was always quite the athlete and loved to run and catch his Frisbee with speed and grace. He stayed fit and looking young in his old age by swimming regularly at Back On Track, the canine PT Swim facility.
He was a great travel-dog, doing road trips to California as well as 2 trips back East to West Virginia visiting family and to Rodanthe, NC, to chase ghost crabs. At home, he loved patrolling his domain and keeping a careful watch out for marauding squirrels and chipmunks (and anything else that needed announcing).
He was a great inspiration to Cat in her artwork and was a wonderful studio companion. He showed up in a lot of her artwork and photography. His image that Cat painted on a mask was chosen for the banners and poster in the Cherry Creek Mall to advertise the 2003 Hospice of Denver’s Mask Project in Denver, CO.
Above all, he was such a loyal and loving friend and companion…a true anam cara. Tanzer is such a presence in the lives of those he touched. He was always filled with personality and excited waggy-tail energy…up until his last days.
He is survived by his companion/guardians, Cat Dailey and Renaud Beserie-Stauber of Boulder, CO. He is preceded in death by his breeder, Elizabeth Parr; his mother, Jayde, of Loveland, and his father, Moose.
To all of you that have supported us through this difficult time, we are so grateful for your love and prayers…we truly believe that it helped with his crossing over.
There are no words to convey how very deeply Tanzer will be missed…
